I've been using LRP Effaclar Duo for about two weeks and it has been drying out my skin and skin feels a lot tighter in as little as 30 mins after applying. I have oily skin and used to use basic nivea moisturiser and this. never happened before. Before moisturising i just use the effaclar cleanser. Is this normal?

Hello! I’ve been using the drunk elephant A-passioni retinol cream for 6 month. I am about to run out and want to switch to the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Adapalene gel 0.1%. From all my research I want to switch to Adapalene because it is stronger than my current drunk elephant retinol. I have acne around my chin but mainly Routine Help. I recently started using effaclar due to help with hyperpigmentation, but I'm unsure if I can use this with a retinoid. I also want to use benzoyl peroxide for spots but not sure if this can also be used with these two. Other than that I use the ordinary moisturiser, and la Roche Possay spf 50 in the mornings. I also have the Effaclar Duo with Spf 30. In order to get the Spf of 30 and PPD of 10, you would have to apply a good amount. You have to see, if your skin can tolerate the actives, if you apply more of the product. The Effaclar is their acne-prone range. The Effaclar Foaming Gel Cleanser is for mild acne and the Effaclar Micro Peeling Purifying Gel Cleanser is for mild to moderate acne. For some reason, my skin didn't like the LRP Effaclar Foaming Gel Cleanser and it broke me out. But I really love the LRP Micro Peeling Gel Cleanser! It's super foaming
It's possible it will be irritating but only testing it will give you a definite answer. It has to be at a concentration or 5-10% for best results and a ph between 3-4. Cicaplast Baume B5 (sensitive skin saviour), Effaclar Duo+, Toleriane Soin Lavant, Cicaplast Lèvres and the line of Lipikar shower products. Yep, I have a lot LRP in my bathroom. LRP Hydrating UVMune. Elegant for the high protection and most of all, no skin irritation. I had the same dilemma as you some time ago and looked a bit into the matter. Put simple, the duo is for battling acne and the K is for preserving a good condition on acne prone skin. Annual_Working5502 • 4 mo. ago. Makes sense!
