Here's a list of those older cameras for which my reviews are no longer available: DX Models (1.5x crop sensor): D40 (6mp) and D40x (10mp) — no longer recommended. D50 (6mp) — no longer recommended. D60 (10mp) — no longer recommended. D70 and D70s (6mp) — no longer recommended. D80 (10mp) — not recommended (exposure, amp noise)
October is dead time to buy new cameras. All the sales are turned off because Black Friday is next month. The D5600 is a good camera if you only want to do still photography and want to use a DSLR style camera. It's not likely to see any significant discounts because it's pretty much been late stage near end of life for some time now.
Would have a D700 all day long compared to to the D6XX series, the a.f on the D700 is much better. Would probably still have at least one of them if it had more than one card slot. Still a very capable camera, although they can feel a bit clunky to use compared to the newer models.
The AF-Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4D is Nikon's current version of their fast 'standard' prime lens, and while this specific model was introduced in 1995, the basic optical design dates back to the manual focus 50mm 1:1.4 AI of 1977. It features a traditional layout of 7 elements in 6 groups utilizing spherical surfaces only, which Nikon claims will deliver distortion-free images with superb resolution
Buying a ten year old used DSLR at a time when DSLRs are quickly being replaced by mirrorless cameras, but despite it's age, the Nikon D800 is still a fantas
NIKON D7100 + 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 @ 400mm, ISO 400, 1/1250, f/8.0. In terms of handling, the D7100 balances and fits nicely in hands, very similarly to the Nikon D7000. The MB-D15 battery pack is also available for better balancing with heavier lenses and convenience for switching from landscape to portrait orientation.
The D700 is Nikon’s second full-frame DSLR. Announced on July 1st 2008, the D700 essentially takes the D3’s large ‘FX’ format sensor and squeezes it into a D300-sized body. Along with being smaller and lighter than the flagship D3, it’s also comfortably cheaper, making the D700 Nikon’s first ‘affordable’ full-frame DSLR.
The Nikon D700 is a professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera introduced by the Nikon Corporation in July 2008 and manufactured in Japan. It uses the same 12.1-megapixel “FX” CMOS image sensor as the Nikon D3, and is Nikon’s second full-frame digital SLR camera.
Nikon D6 Review; Nikon D700 Review; Large Sensor. Despite the fact that this camera is a few years old, it still offers photographers a 45MP sensor. In fact, the Nikon D850 was actually the first Nikon camera to offer a 45MP BSI-CMOS sensor. So, if you do purchase a Nikon D850 in 2021, you won’t actually be giving up any image quality in
Great article Nasim. I’ve always maintained the D700 was the best camera I ever used. I sold mine some years ago after being lured in by new camera tech, video capability and more resolution. However, I have to honestly say nothing ever really hit the spot like the D700 and I’m now looking at buying another. Best wishes. Mark

Right now I'm considering a D600 + lens since I can get that probably around 1000USD or a little more. I am aware of the sensor problems with the D600 but the place that I'm buying from is quite reputable and has a 2 week warranty on the camera. In addition, going to Nikon for help isn't too far away for me as well.
Is the Nikon D600 still worth it in 2021 and 2022 ?This is s Full Frame Sensor Camera, with 24.3 Mega Pixels, takes good photographs, and can be used for Vid
The control scheme is just excellent - a thing to love about all Nikon DSLRs. All relevant camera functions can be accessed via buttons. I’d even say that the D700 control scheme is superior to the newer ones as found on the D800 and onwards. The D700 still has dedicated AF-Area and AF-Mode switches.
Whatever lenses you buy today will last you for many new cameras to come. For instance, I bought my 17-35mm back for use on my F100 film camera in April 2000, and it's still Nikon's toughest and fastest ultrawide zoom today. See Lens or Camera and Is It Worth It. Unlike camera bodies, the best of these lenses actually appreciate in value over time.
