Ihave the 1.4 d4d In a 2015 Auris sports Tourer . Its go well but fast and need to change down on some hills but happy with the car . I belive with a 2016 model at least in the uk the car would be a 1.6 BMW engine . I bought the 1.4 D4d as I was told it was the more reliablr engine
Havingalways had the vehicle serviced with Toyota, it is disappointing that they had not picked this up (just had it for 150K service) as one or two of the injectors are outside their own stated tolerances, and this issue (if I can call it that) is not unknown with the D4D engine. However, Toyota servicing standards are a separate topic.

I don't have enough money for 2.0 or 2.2 diesel engine at the momment. Therefore I would like to increase the power to 110PS (chip tuning, cost approximately 400€).

Justto hijack this thread - my Hilux 3.0 D4D does this too, sounds like the big ends gone for the first 10 mins of driving but its apparently just a characteristic of the engine. Drive it harder (above 2500 revs) and the noise disappears. Use a thinner grade oil is supposed to help too.
